Wreaths Across America
One of our Missions is to participate in Wreaths Across America at the Florence National Cemetery.
We are a Registered Sponsorship Group with Wreaths. Wreaths are $17.
Currently Florence National Cemetery has 15,651 Veterans buried there (as of 9/30/24) This years ceremony and wreath laying was on Dec. 14, 2024. The ceremony was at 12 noon EST across the world. There is a quick ceremony before wreath laying begins. The public is invited to attend. In 2024 we were able to cover almost every single gravesite! Thank you to everyone who sponsored wreaths and made this possible! The 2025 wreath laying will be on Dec. 13, 2025. The ceremony will be at 12 noon EST across the world.

In mid Oct. 2024, Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina, was named the Florence National Cemeteries, Cemetery Coordinator. Sharon Russell and Carol Dion were put in charge of everything pertaining to Wreaths Across America for the cemetery. That gave us 7 weeks to plan a ceremony, get trash removal, tents and chairs, programs, line up the State Guard, the Boy Scouts, a Color Guard and everything else everyone has become accustomed to in Florence. By the grace of God we pulled it off! Thanks to many Veteran Organizations who stepped up and helped us out. Thank you to everyone who sponsored wreaths and made this possible!
We were unaware of all the moving parts and all the expense involved. For 14 years our only objective was to get wreaths sponsored. We were not prepared! in 2025 we will be better prepared, more aware and will start much earlier lining up everything to make sure we have just as many wreaths, and attendance as 2024. It was our biggest crowd ever! We are now working on a bigger and better participation by the greater Florence Community. Keep Moving Forward!
